Experimental Performance Assessment of Curved Photovoltaic Modules for Vehicle-Integrated Photovoltaic Systems
Under the supervision of Huseyin Ayhan Yavasoglu, this experimental study was conducted by Semir Sunkun to investigate the performance variations of flexible photovoltaic modules when integrated into curved vehicle surfaces. A dedicated experimental platform was developed, incorporating an adjustable bending mechanism and a data acquisition system for synchronized monitoring of solar irradiance, ambient temperature, and electrical power parameters. Measurements collected under real outdoor conditions were analyzed using statistical methods to model the effects of curvature on power generation and compare the findings with theoretical approaches. The study was published in Renewable Energy, and further details are available under DOI: 10.1016/j.renene.2026.125557.
